The Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS) team is involved in the improvement and troubleshooting of our customers active train fleets. The typical projects span from issue troubleshooting and correction, obsolescence management to functional improvements.

The TCMS has an onboard and a wayside application:

The onboard portion acquires train data, apply control rules and activates outputs for train operation. It also gathers multiple train health metrics that are sent to the wayside software over wireless links.

The wayside application receives, processes, archives and makes this data available for consultation. This data is used for efficient train operation, preventive and reactive maintenance.

As a Test & Validation Specialist (Software) , you will directly contribute to the technical excellence of our solutions. Reporting to the Test Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety and performance of Wayside systems. Your future role

As a Test & Validation Specialist, you will play a key role in driving the technical excellence of our solutions. Reporting to the Test Manager, you will ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of Wayside systems. Acting as a technical reference on key projects, you will contribute your expertise to test strategies, technical choices, and validation methodologies. Your key responsibilities

Technical Expertise: Act as a technical reference on defined projects by providing support on complex testing, architecture, and validation challenges.

Automation: Develop scripts and tools to integrate testing activities

Execution & Analysis: Ensure requirements traceability, diagnose complex defects, and optimize test coverage

Observability: Implement advanced tools (logs, network captures, traces) for accurate diagnostics

Strictly adhere to established processes, methods, and tools related to these activities

About you

Beyond your technical expertise, we are looking for a passionate and committed individuals. To succeed in this role and meet our technological challenges, you ideally possess the following key skills and qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

Experience: 7+ years of experience in software or system testing within complex multi-system environments

Technical Skills: Strong scripting skills (ex: Python, Bash…), networking knowledge (ex: TCP/IP, Ethernet…), and experience with CI/CD tools (ex: GitLab, Jenkins…)

Tools: Familiarity with requirements management (ex: DOORS…) and databases (ex: SQL…)

Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset and ability to work in an international, multi-site, matrix organization

Fluent in French and English required

Automation: Have a strong interest for automated testing (Asset)

Location: Saint-Bruno (South Shore of Montreal) Status: Permanent, full-time (40h) Work Model: Hybrid (3 days on-site / 2 days remote)
