At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Application Design Group Manager in Bangalore we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your rail signalling expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You'll play a vital role in delivering on-time system design baselines with the desired scope and quality. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including the Application Design Team, System Specification Team, PrSAA, and PrEM. You’ll also engage with key stakeholders such as the Project Solution Architect, Verification Leader, System Engineer, and Design Leader to ensure seamless communication and interface.

You’ll specifically take care of delivering system design baselines (SyRS, SyAD, OCD, TMS) and ensuring high-quality design deliveries, but also manage internal activity plans and maintain on-time delivery with minimal or zero defects.

We’ll look to you for:

Delivering system design baselines (SyRS, SyAD, OCD, TMS) and ensuring all design deliveries meet scope, quality, and timelines

Conducting internal kick-off meetings with the system and design teams

Reviewing customer input documents, preparing technical proposals, and responding to technical queries

Attending technical workshops with customers

Managing application design deliveries (SyNR, SyCR, RTI, SyDT, SyAP, Scheme Plan, and System Database)

Analyzing verification reports, FIVP CRs, track survey measurements, and T&C blocking CRs

Ensuring adherence to Alstom engineering processes with zero deviations

Conducting quality reviews for each delivery

Planning and completing internal activities within allocated budgets

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Communication, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the rail signalling domain

Experience in completing at least one design cycle for a signalling project

Clear understanding of signal engineering processes

Proficiency in designing interlocking schemes, aspect charts/bit charts, and signalling interface plans

Ability to design and configure field devices for signalling layouts, including fouling points, overlaps, routes, stations, and zones

Experience interfacing with subsystems such as IXL, ATC, and ATS

Understanding of as-installed baseline integration

Experience working on signalling specification documents and customer interfaces

Activity planning and project technical design documentation experience

Experience with system types such as ERTMS or CBTC, preferably in design

System configuration and test procedure knowledge

Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software

Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, and specification writing)

Behavioral competencies: Agile, inclusive, responsible, quick learner, and strong communication skills

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
