About the role
Job Description The Control System Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of industrial control systems throughout their lifecycle. This role involves establishing quality standards, performing system audits, conducting validation and verification, managing nonconformance issues, and collaborating with engineering teams to drive continuous improvement. The engineer ensures that control systems meet regulatory, safety, and customer requirements, while supporting robust engineering practices for automation and process control projects. will be responsible for Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes for control system design, integration, and commissioning. Review engineering documentation, control logic, system architecture, and software configurations for compliance with standards. Conduct risk assessments, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and reliability studies for control system components. Plan and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and validation protocols. Establish and enforce quality KPIs, inspection checklists, and test procedures for PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and safety instrumented systems. Audit suppliers, integrators, and contractors to ensure adherence to quality requirements. Manage nonconformances, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Support configuration management, version control, and documentation accuracy for automation software and hardware. Collaborate with design, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure robust lifecycle quality governance. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISA standards, and relevant regulatory frameworks. Train engineering and project teams on control system quality practices. Knowledge & Skills Required Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or ISO 9001:2015. Experience in regulated industries such as oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, energy, or manufacturing. Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for control systems (IEC 62443, NIST). Quality management in control and automation projects. System testing and validation. Problem-solving and root cause analysis. Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards. Collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
