Data Management Manager

Role Overview: As the Data Management Manager at Amgen, you will be responsible for managing the execution of Data Platforms Operations in collaboration with the Technology team. Your role involves driving continuous innovation, operational excellence, and cost efficiencies. You will oversee the execution of features aligned with one or more Data Platform product teams and work with global teams and functional partners to implement additional capabilities to the platform in alignment with business objectives. Additionally, you will focus on building a highly talented and data-focused team in the Innovation Center in India, in partnership with the Senior Manager, Data Platforms. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and oversee the prioritization, execution, and deployment of data-enabling features in one of the Commercial Data Platforms Product teams, following standard operating procedures. - Manage various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as a member of the Data Management Operations teams, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and documentation in partnership with Technology teams within a Product Team setting. - Collaborate with peer teams and technology teams to review requests, design solutions, estimate effort, and prioritize requests in the assigned Product backlog. - Communicate with stakeholders throughout the SDLC stages to ensure alignment on efforts, solutions, timelines, and expectations. - Ensure governance processes are followed, conduct system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and set up documentation for traceability through the deployment lifecycle. - Work with syndicated data sets, digital marketing data sets, and internal data sets to enable HCP & Patient centric connected data sets for stakeholders. - Manage the Big Data platform infrastructure, including access, platform costs, ad hoc capabilities, data quality, etc. - Evaluate and implement tools and technologies to support the future state of the platform and collaborate with Technology teams to monitor system health and proactively remediate concerns. - Engage with peers across Master Data Management, Data Platforms, Patient Data Management, Data Acquisition & Governance to ensure alignment on implemented solutions for stakeholders. - Identify roadblocks, process gaps, and resourcing needs to the Leadership team for continuous improvement efforts. - Develop and oversee transition plans for work migration to the Amgen India Innovation Center and execute the insourcing of Operational Data Management Services. - Facilitate cross-team and organizational engagement and alignment to contribute to delivering priority initiatives and establish new ways of working across time zones. Qualifications Required: - A degree with 8 to 13 years of relevant data management experience. - Proven experience in working in global teams and across time zones. - Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills. - Experience in data architecture, data flow design, data modeling, and data profiling. - Hands-on experience with technologies such as AWS, Databricks, SQL, Python, R, etc. - Ability to collaborate with peers, leadership teams, and peer teams to drive business outcomes. - Exceptional collaboration, communication, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities. - Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, changing environment and articulate complex concepts clearly.
