As an experienced Software Asset Management (SAM) leader at Amgen, you will play a crucial role in managing and maturing the operational execution of the enterprise SAM program. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of SAM & Application Decommission / Technology Rationalization, you will lead day-to-day SAM operations, manage a team of two AIN SAM Analysts, and ensure Amgen maintains a compliant, optimized, and audit-ready software licensing posture. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the operational execution of Amgens Software Asset Management program, establishing and maintaining standardized processes, controls, and documentation. - Ensure alignment of SAM practices with enterprise governance and compliance standards. - Directly manage and develop two AIN SAM Analysts, providing structured onboarding, mentoring, and performance management. - Serve as the operational lead for software audits and true-up activities, ensuring entitlement-to-deployment reconciliation accuracy and reducing compliance risk exposure. - Drive license optimization and cost avoidance initiatives, partnering with Procurement and Finance on renewals and forecasting. - Oversee data accuracy within ServiceNow SAM Pro and related discovery tools, improving reporting automation, executive dashboards, and developing measurable KPIs and cost savings metrics. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Finance, Legal, InfoSec, Infrastructure, and Application Owners, providing advisory support on licensing models and usage implications. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's OR Masters degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience. - 8 to 12 years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, or IT Vendor Management. - Experience managing enterprise software audits for vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Adobe, etc. - Strong understanding of license models including subscription, SaaS, core-based, and user-based. - Financial acumen including forecasting, budgeting, and cost optimization. - Experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro or similar SAM tooling. - Experience in regulated or GxP environments preferred. - Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills. In this role, you will have a significant organizational impact by strengthening audit readiness, improving software spend visibility, enabling technology rationalization, and building sustainable SAM processes while reducing key-person risk.
