About the role

Responsible for working as an electrically skilled person as defined in AmSty’s Electrical Safe Work Practices. Longer term as this person gains experience, he/she will be expected to perform the role of facility representative as defined in the electrical safe work practices.

Troubleshoots and diagnoses instrument and electrical problems and selects and implements corrective actions.

Identifies and repairs DCS and PLC hardware problems.

Troubleshoots and programs PLC software.

Calibrates process instruments according to applicable standards. Operates and maintains instrument and electrical testing equipment.

Maintains electrical hardware typically up to 480 volts, but higher voltage electrical infrastructure as well.

Plans, prioritizes, and schedules instrument and electrical maintenance with input from the Operations Manager and Activity Coordinator.

Develops and implements corrective actions identified in incident reports and work orders.

Completes instrument and electrical system preventative maintenance activities.

Requests/performs failure analysis as needed.

Helps designs instruments loops and electrical systems. Specifies, requisitions, and installs instruments and electrical components (measurements of flow, temperature, pressure).

Serves as electrical subject matter expert on expense and capital project reviews.

Follows and ensures compliance of plant safety and maintenance procedures.

Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
