As a Data Engineering Lead at Amura, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling the data infrastructure that powers the HealthTech platform. You will have the opportunity to lead a small team of data engineers and work closely with product, analytics, and engineering teams to create meaningful human impact through data. Your key responsibilities will include: - Designing and owning scalable, reliable data architectures supporting analytics, reporting, and ML use cases. - Defining standards for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access. - Choosing and evolving the data stack (batch, streaming, lake/warehouse) while balancing performance, cost, and data freshness requirements. - Building and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern tools and frameworks. - Ensuring data reliability, consistency, and performance at scale. - Implementing data versioning, lineage, and metadata management. - Building data systems on AWS cloud platforms and partnering with DevOps on IaC, CI/CD, monitoring, and cost optimization. - Establishing data quality checks, validation frameworks, and monitoring. - Defining and enforcing data governance, access control, and privacy standards. - Leading, mentoring, and reviewing the work of data engineers. - Partnering with product managers, analysts, and ML teams to translate requirements into data solutions. - Advocating for a strong data culture across the organization. Qualifications Required: - 912+ years of experience in data engineering or backend/data platform roles. - Strong programming skills in Python and/or SQL (Scala/Java is a plus). - Deep experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data platforms. - Data modeling (star/snowflake, dimensional modeling). - Distributed data processing. - Hands-on experience with AWS data services, such as S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, EMR, Lambda, Kinesis, or equivalents. - Experience leading or mentoring engineers and owning technical outcomes.
