Manager, AI Engineering

Were looking for a hands-on engineering leader to build and lead our GenAI engineering team. Youll drive execution of our conversational AI and agentic AI roadmap, managing a team of talented engineers while remaining hands-on yourself. This role requires both exceptional leadership skills and the ability to roll up your sleeves and solve complex technical problems. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 7-10 GenAI engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and delivery Drive end-to-end execution of conversational AI features that enable users to interact with Anaplan models through n atural language Oversee development of agentic AI systems that can autonomously analyze data, generate insights, and execute planning workflows Own the teams delivery roadmap, working closely with product management to prioritize features and manage technical trade-offs Establish engineering best practices for GenAI development including testing strategies, evaluation frameworks and deployment patterns Lead sprint planning, technical design reviews, and retrospectives to ensure consistent delivery velocity and quality Collaborate with AI Solutions Architects to translate architectural vision into executable engineering plans Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for GenAI applications, including automated testing and prompt regression suites Partner with platform teams to ensure AI features integrate seamlessly with Anaplans core infrastructure Manage technical debt, refactoring initiatives, and platform improvements while maintaining feature delivery momentum Recruit and onboard top engineering talent, conducting technical interviews and building a diverse, high-performing team Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders Required Qualifications 7+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years leading engineering teams Strong hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI applications in production Deep knowledge of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and conversational AI patterns Experience with agentic frameworks and autonomous agent architectures Proficiency in Python and modern software development practices (testing, code review, CI/CD) Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on time with high quality Strong project management skills with experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and build cohesive, productive teams Bachelor s degree in computer science or related field Preferred Qualifications Experience leading teams in fast-growing startups or enterprise software companies Knowledge of financial planning, analytics, or business intelligence domains Experience with RAG systems, vector databases, and semantic search Familiarity with model fine-tuning, evaluation, and continuous improvement workflows Background in distributed systems, microservices, or cloud-native architectures Experience with TypeScript/React for full-stack AI applications Track record of improving engineering velocity and team productivity metrics What Makes This Role Exciting Lead a greenfield team building transformative AI capabilities from the ground up Work on cutting-edge conversational and agentic AI technologies Shape engineering culture and practices for Anaplans AI organization Join during a transformative phase as Anaplan embeds AI throughout its platform Disclaimer: This job posting has been aggregated from external source.
