About the role
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems, policies or products to enhance performance of job area. Follows best-practice SDLC processes and standards (requirements, design/development, testing, demo's, code reviews, etc.). Coordinates with solution architects on best-fit design and standards for solutions. Provide leadership in the decision-making process ensuring all phases of the SDLC are in place and followed. Prioritize and review Test plans with QA resources. Mentor and train new QA resources on the details of the systems that they support. Work with project teams to provide testing updates, estimates, timelines and other metrics related to the software development life cycle. Facilitates, reviews, governs, and improves the Software Development Lifecycle processes and related procedures. Facilitates and acts as a focal point for communicating system related problems within the department and collaborates with other IT teams and managers on solutions, enhancements, and process improvements. Hires, coaches, and evaluates associates, their performance and implements corrective action as necessary. Facilitates and reviews the delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, and enhancement tickets raised by the end users for assigned applications. Develops relevant metrics, measures, and publishes the performance of the services provided and enables continuous improvement activities in collaboration with peer groups. Works closely with all other IT management personnel in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specic information technologies that support the business plans and IT strategies. Defines procedures that are compliant with IT and Ferguson policies, while working to change those policies that are outdated or do not fit the true nature of the work. Reviews and evaluates relevant new technology, processes, developments, and forecasts future trends in the IT industry. Maintains a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve IT and business objectives. Participate in leadership meetings and represent associate concerns, policies, and guidelines to the management team. Conduct regular associate meetings. Has direct responsibility for the formal supervision of at least two (2) associates. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 9 – 12 yrs of experience in total. A minimum of five (2 - 4) years of experience is typically required to perform at expectation. Applies advanced knowledge of specific technical areas. 3 yrs of leadership exp. We will be open for 2 yrs. Minimum of 5 years of IT experience is preferred. – hands on as developer. Knowledge of and familiarity with various technical solutions and software. Solid understanding of the solution delivery lifecycle. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to effectively communicate in writing. Ability to effectively communicate verbally. Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups. Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams. Ability to efficiently operate computers, tablets, and mobile devices. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.). Requires giving and/or receiving verbal communication. Requires giving and/or receiving written communication. Hands on experience on Java, Microservices, SQL as a developer
