About the role
About the job: We are looking for a 'Senior System Architect' to design and build the core middleware and communication platform for advanced real-time simulation systems. You will architect distributed software, networking layers, hardware integration, and scalable communication frameworks. Experience with DDS is beneficial but not mandatory. The primary focus is strong systems engineering, middleware design, networking, and modern C++. Key responsibilities: 1. Design scalable distributed software architectures for real-time simulation platforms. 2. Develop middleware connecting simulator components. 3. Build networking layers using TCP/IP, UDP, WebSockets, and IPC. 4. Design publish/subscribe and event-driven communication systems. 5. Develop distributed synchronization and low-latency messaging. 6. Integrate hardware, simulators, displays, and instructor stations. 7. Develop multithreaded and asynchronous software. 8. Evaluate technologies such as DDS, shared memory, gRPC, and similar middleware where appropriate. 9. Optimize reliability, scalability, and performance. 10. Collaborate with simulation, firmware, hardware, and software teams.
