About the role
Role Overview: As a manager at A.P.T Portfolio, you will be responsible for managing the devops team. Your role will involve overseeing various aspects of IT infrastructure and ensuring the smooth functioning of the network architecture to support HPC applications. You will also be in charge of implementing and maintaining scheduling tools, security measures, capacity sizing, storage solutions, public cloud utilization, backups, access control, operating system updates, configuration management, data storage, and security planning. Key Responsibilities: - Design and maintain a high-performance and reliable network architecture to support HPC applications in the private cloud. - Implement and maintain HPC scheduling technology like Kubernetes, Hadoop YARN, Mesos, HTCondor, or Nomad for processing and scheduling analytical jobs. - Implement best security practices and data isolation policies internally. - Monitor private cloud usage, plan capacity enhancements, and optimize storage solutions for analytical jobs. - Implement and optimize the latest version of NFS for the organization's use case. - Drive AWS/Google-Cloud utilization to increase efficiency, improve collaboration, and reduce costs. - Identify and automate backup of crucial data in a secured manner and ensure smooth recovery from backups. - Maintain password-less access control, minimize failures due to unsuccessful logins, and roll out new operating systems. - Work closely with DevOps/development teams to freeze configurations/playbook for various teams and internal applications. - Maintain tight control of root access on devices, audit access logs, and monitor for suspicious activities. - Maintain third-party tools used for development and collaboration in a fault-tolerant environment. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's level degree, preferably in CSE/IT. - 10+ years of relevant experience in sys-admin function. - Strong knowledge of IT Infrastructure, Linux, Networking, and grid. - Strong grasp of automation and data management tools. - Proficiency in scripting languages and Python. Desirables: - Professional attitude, cooperative and mature approach to work. - Focused, structured, and well-considered troubleshooting skills. - Exhibit a high level of individual initiative and ownership. - Effective collaboration with other team members.
