Senior Technical Lead

This role sits at the intersection of architecture, execution, and people leadership . Key Responsibilities 1. Technical Leadership & Architecture Own the technical direction and architecture across multiple projects. Define and review system design, APIs, data models, and integration patterns . Ensure best practices in scalability, security, performance, and maintainability . Provide architectural guidance for web applications (Next.js, Django) and backend services. Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technical approaches. 2. Project & Portfolio Delivery Oversee the technical execution of multiple parallel projects . Work with PMs/BAs to break down requirements into clear technical tasks and milestones . Ensure alignment between business requirements, UX designs, and engineering implementation . Identify technical risks early and drive mitigation plans. Support estimation, planning, and delivery commitments. 3. Team Leadership & Mentorship Lead, mentor, and grow a team of: Next.js developers Python/Django developers QA engineers Set coding standards, review practices, and quality benchmarks . Conduct code and design reviews and provide constructive feedback. Help junior and mid-level engineers improve technical depth and ownership. Foster a culture of engineering excellence and accountability . 4. Engineering Process & Quality Establish and improve development workflows (Git, CI/CD, branching strategies). Collaborate with QA to ensure: Strong test coverage Shift-left quality practices Reduced production defects Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices , including documentation and traceability. Drive continuous improvement in delivery speed and quality. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the technical bridge between engineering, product, design, QA, and stakeholders. Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure feasible, performant implementations . Support BAs in clarifying technical constraints and solution options. Communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders when needed. 6. Production Support & Problem Solving Support teams in debugging, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution . Ensure systems are observable, maintainable, and supportable. Drive post-incident reviews and preventive improvements. Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience in Python & Django (including Django REST Framework). Solid understanding of modern frontend development (Next.js, React concepts). Strong grasp of system design, REST APIs, and relational databases . Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and cloud environments . Understanding of application security, performance optimization, and scalability . Familiarity with QA practices, test automation concepts, and release management. Leadership & Delivery Skills Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams . Experience managing multiple projects or a project portfolio . Strong ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to mentor, review, and guide engineers effectively. Clear and confident communication skills.
