Manager Software Development

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning for team members Build and maintain a high-performing engineering team through effective hiring, onboarding, and retention practices Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across the team Technical Delivery Oversee the design, development, and delivery of scalable, cloud-ready retail software solutions Partner with Product Management, Architecture, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to engineering standards through code reviews and technical guidance Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and methodologies Manage technical debt and ensure long-term platform sustainability Project & Process Management Plan and execute on project roadmaps, ensuring timely delivery of features and releases Facilitate agile ceremonies and promote agile best practices within the team Identify and mitigate technical risks and project dependencies Provide regular status updates to senior leadership on project progress, team health, and key metrics Collaboration & Communication Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, DevOps, and Implementation Services Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences Collaborate with other engineering managers to align on standards, practices, and platform initiatives Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 7+ years of software development experience 2+ years of people management experience leading software development teams Strong technical background in modern software development practices and technologies Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native architectures Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and with quality Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving abilities and technical decision-making skills
