Roles & Responsibilities Qualifications & Competence Concept Design & IdeationAssist in developing mechanical concepts for new product developmentCreate 3D CAD models and 2D assembly/detail drawingsParticipate in design review meetings; incorporate feedback into revised models and drawingsEvaluate design options against functional requirements, cost targets, and manufacturability constraints Prototyping & Hands-on BuildFabricate or coordinate fabrication of mechanical prototypesAssemble sub-systems and components; identify and flag DFM/DFA issues observed during buildMaintain workshop tools, prototype components, and assembly records in good order Testing & Performance ValidationSet up and execute mechanical and functional testsRecord test parameters and results systematically; compare actuals against design targetsFlag deviations and support root cause analysis and design correction under senior engineer guidance Engineering DocumentationPrepare and maintain BOMs, assembly drawings, test reports, design review notes, and engineering change recordsFollow document control standards for version management and file naming conventionsCompile and update product technical files for internal reference and external submissions Vendor & Cross functional CoordinationCommunicate drawing requirements to fabrication vendors; follow up on prototype part deliveryCollect technical datasheets and maintain a component/material database for R&D useCoordinate with production and quality teams to clarify design intent during development cycles B.E. / B.Tech Mechanical Engineering .
