Role Description We are looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable System Administrator who will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the College's computer systems, servers, networks, and IT infrastructure. The incumbent will ensure smooth and secure functioning of all IT resources across academic, administrative, and examination-related operations, and will provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students. Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT hardware/software across the campus.Manage and monitor local area network (LAN), Wi-Fi infrastructure, firewalls, and internet connectivity to ensure uninterrupted access.Administer user accounts, access permissions, and email systems for faculty, staff, and students.Ensure regular data backup, disaster recovery readiness, and system security, including antivirus and patch management.Monitor network and server performance; diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.Provide technical support for examinations, online classes, ERP/college management software, and MOOCs/NPTEL-related platforms.Maintain inventory and documentation of IT assets, licenses, warranties, and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC).Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement, repair, and upgradation of IT equipment.Implement and enforce IT security policies, including data protection and access control protocols.Support smart classrooms, computer labs, and other technology-enabled teaching infrastructure.Assist in the setup and technical management of institutional websites, biometric attendance systems, and CCTV surveillance systems, as required.Prepare periodic reports on system uptime, incidents, and IT infrastructure status for management review.Ensure compliance with AICTE, University, and other regulatory requirements pertaining to IT infrastructure and data management.Qualifications & Eligibility B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (MCA or equivalent also acceptable); relevant certifications (CCNA, MCSA, RHCE, or similar) preferred.Minimum 25 years of relevant experience in system/network administration, preferably in an educational institution.Sound knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration, networking protocols, and virtualization technologies.Familiarity with ERP systems, biometric/attendance software, and campus IT infrastructure is desirable.Required Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Good understanding of network security and data backup practices.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under time constraints.Effective communication skills to liaise with faculty, staff, students, and external vendors.Willingness to be available for urgent IT support, including during examinations and admission periods.Location: On-Campus Salary: No Bar for Deserving Candidates.
