Job Description SOC Analyst Position: SOC Analyst Location: Kolkata, West Bengal Experience: 2–4 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Rotational Shift (24x7 Security Operations) Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented SOC (Security Operations Center) Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents across the organization's IT infrastructure. The SOC Analyst will work closely with security teams to identify threats, investigate suspicious activities, and ensure the security of systems, networks, and data. Key Responsibilities Monitor security alerts and events through SIEM and security monitoring tools on a 24x7 basis. Investigate, analyze, and respond to security incidents, alerts, and suspicious activities. Perform incident triage, containment, escalation, and remediation support. Monitor network traffic, endpoints, servers, and cloud environments for potential threats. Analyze logs from multiple security devices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR/XDR solutions, and servers. Conduct threat hunting and identify indicators of compromise (IOCs). Escalate critical incidents to senior analysts or incident response teams as required. Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation. Assist with vulnerability assessments and security audits. Follow established security processes, procedures, and escalation matrices. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. 2–4 years of hands-on experience in a SOC, Cybersecurity, or Information Security role. Experience working with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, IBM QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, ArcSight, or similar tools. Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, and common protocols. Knowledge of security tools such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Antivirus, EDR/XDR, and Email Security solutions. Experience in incident analysis, threat detection, and event correlation. Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, NIST, and other security frameworks. Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Preferred Skills Cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CEH, CySA+, SSCP, GSEC, or equivalent. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Experience with cloud security monitoring (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Understanding of threat intelligence and malware analysis. Additional Requirements Must be comfortable working in rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as per business requirements. Ability to work in a fast-paced Security Operations Center environment. Strong team collaboration and incident management skills.
