About the role
Role Overview: Arista Networks is looking for an experienced, dynamic, and hands-on engineer to join their Chennai office and work on expanding their campus Wi-Fi portfolio. As an engineer at Arista, you will collaborate with various teams to analyze customer requirements, create test plans, and ensure that the product meets customer needs. The role involves working on diverse and complex Wi-Fi deployments, handling customer escalations, and ensuring rock-solid quality in campus and enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities: - Understand the Arista Wi-Fi cloud architecture, components, and related products. - Collaborate with software development, test engineers, and field support engineers to gather technical requirements and validate product functionality. - Act as the first point of contact for field escalations, reproduce issues, and drive them to resolution by coordinating with multiple teams. - Design and deploy complex networks that replicate customer environments at scale. - Conduct end-to-end testing for wired and wireless deployments. - Perform interoperability testing between Arista APs, enterprise-grade clients, and custom Wi-Fi equipment. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, IT, or a related field. - 5-15 years of experience in troubleshooting wired or wireless networks and debugging complex software. - Mandatory hands-on experience with Wi-Fi technologies such as RF and L1 intricacies, tunneling data path traffic, and designing Wi-Fi labs at scale. - Proven expertise in creating test methodologies, writing test plans, and solid knowledge of networking fundamentals. - Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking tools, and basic understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and SQL. - Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
