Engineering Support Associate

Minimum Requirements: This position may be filled at the ESA I, II, or III level. Education and experience: Graduation from high school, vocational school, a GED certificate or the equivalent; and some experience in one or more of the following areas: Engineering support; Construction management; Laboratory experience conducting tests; Customer service in a trades environment; and/or Automated records management. Substitution: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field may substitute for up to one year of experience. Desirable: Preference may be given to candidates with a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A or B, and experience in one or more of the following: Preparing, updating, and/or locating records, drawings, and plats; Mapping and performing spatial analyses with ArcGIS Pro; Working with an automated work order management system (Cartegraph) and/or utility billing software (Cayenta); Reading engineering plans, schematics, maps, and drawings showing water and/or sewer systems; Drafting with AutoCAD; and/or Working with citizens to resolve public works requests. Working Conditions: Work is performed both outdoors in all types of weather conditions and within an office environment. The work environment includes exposure to drafts, noise, dust, grease, and dirt, and may include extended periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, and lifting light to heavy objects and equipment. Additional Information Work hours: This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position typically 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Employee must be available for callback in emergency situations, particularly during snow removal season. Employee may be required to work alternate work shift(s) which may include extended shift(s), hours outside of normal schedule, and include evening and/or weekends (typically only during snow season).12-hour shifts are required during snow operations. This position is not telework eligible. This position is part of the Engineering Support Associate Multi-Grade (I, II and III) pay band which includes Grades 11, 13 and 14 for entry, journey and senior level work. The pay range above encompasses Grades 11 through 14. Most new hires begin at Grade 11; however, applicants with previous experience may be considered eligible to be hired at a higher level. The supervisor will discuss with employees how the competencies can be achieved, both through training and experience on the job. Salary Ranges: Engineering Support Associate I (Entry): $56,201.60 - $87,110.40 Annually Engineering Support Associate II (Journey): $61,984.00 - $96,096.00 Annually Engineering Support Associate III (Senior): $65,104.00 - $100,921.60 Annually
