As a passionate engineer at our company, your role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and database components to support scalable and reliable applications. Your responsibilities will include: - Writing efficient, secure, and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and backend logic - Collaborating with application developers, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure data integrity, performance, and availability - Participating in database schema design, data modeling, and versioning in alignment with application requirements - Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, query inefficiencies, and data consistency issues - Implementing and following best practices for data access, transaction management, and error handling - Supporting data migrations, upgrades, and deployment activities across environments - Ensuring adherence to security, compliance, and data protection standards - Documenting database designs, data flows, and operational guidelines Qualifications required for this role include: - Strong hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle - Proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, subqueries, indexing, and query optimization - Experience in database schema design and normalization for transactional systems - Experience working in cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP), including managed database services - Understanding of data security concepts, including role-based access, encryption, and secure credentials handling - Experience using version control systems such as Git - Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve data-related production issues - Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Redis - Experience with database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis - Familiarity with data migration tools and schema versioning tools (Flyway, Liquibase) - Understanding of asynchronous processing and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, cloud-native queues) - Exposure to basic DevOps practices, such as CI/CD pipelines for database changes - Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and alerting related to backend and database layers - Exposure to AI-assisted development tools for query optimization, code review, or documentation You will also have the opportunity to lead small teams and interact with stakeholders to understand business problems.
