Associate Engineering Lead

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India Experience: 3 5 years About the Role We are looking for a hands-on Associate Engineering Lead to support cloud infrastructure, DevOps workflows, deployment automation, and platform reliability across ARTPARK s AI and data platforms. The role involves managing AWS cloud infrastructure, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, supporting scalable deployments, managing engineering and cloud operations, coordinating with data engineering and product development teams, and enabling reliable day-to-day platform operations. The candidate will also support product development teams by providing technical guidance on infrastructure, deployment, scalability, and operational requirements, and assist in troubleshooting application and deployment-related issues. The ideal candidate should have strong cloud and DevOps fundamentals, good problem-solving ability, and the ability to work closely with engineers, product managers, and program managers in a multidisciplinary environment. Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Operations Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS Support services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Load Balancers, RDS, and CloudWatch Monitor infrastructure performance, uptime, and reliability Support backup, security, and disaster recovery practices Assist in cloud resource optimisation and infrastructure maintenance DevOps & CI/CD Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployment workflows Support automated build, testing, and deployment processes Manage containerised deployments using Docker Support Kubernetes-based deployments and orchestration (preferred) Implement deployment automation and infrastructure best practices Engineering Coordination & Platform Support Work closely with software engineers, data engineers, and AI/ML teams Coordinate and support data engineering activities related to deployments, infrastructure, and platform integration Provide technical guidance and operational support to engineering teams Support deployment and scaling of APIs, data pipelines, and platform services Assist in debugging deployment and infrastructure-related issues Contribute to improving engineering workflows and operational efficiency Product & Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with product managers, program managers, and engineering teams to support product development and deployment activities Participate in technical discussions, sprint planning, and infrastructure planning activities Provide inputs on deployment architecture, scalability, and operational feasibility Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth engineering and platform operations Support product development teams by providing technical guidance on infrastructure, deployment, scalability, and operational requirements. Assist developers in troubleshooting application, integration, and deployment-related issues to ensure smooth product delivery. Platform Administration & Engineering Operations Manage and support operational administration of engineering and collaboration platforms such as AWS, Slack, Linear, GitHub, and related tools Handle user onboarding/offboarding, access management, permissions, and workspace administration Support engineering teams in managing cloud resources, environments, and operational workflows Coordinate platform access, security practices, and engineering operational support across teams Maintain operational documentation and infrastructure-related configurations Monitoring & Reliability Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems Support issue resolution and operational troubleshooting Help ensure the reliability, scalability, and stability of production systems Required Qualifications Bachelor s degree in any of the following Computer Science Information Technology Electronics Data Engineering Related engineering disciplines Required Skills and Experience 3 5 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or related roles Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines Experience with Docker and containerised deployments Good understanding of Linux systems and server management Familiarity with Git workflows and version control systems Scripting/programming experience in Python, Bash, or similar languages Understanding of monitoring, logging, and infrastructure troubleshooting Experience working closely with engineering or product teams in collaborative development environments Preferred Skills Exposure to Kubernetes and orchestration tools Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) Exposure to AI/ML deployment workflows or MLOps environments Experience supporting data engineering or API-based systems Familiarity with FastAPI, backend deployments, or cloud-native applications Exposure to scalable data platforms or distributed systems Desired Attributes Strong ownership mindset and problem-solving ability Ability to coordinate across engineering and product teams Comfortable working in evolving multidisciplinary environments Good communication and collaboration skills Ability to balance hands-on technical work with engineering coordination responsibilities Ability to manage engineering operations and platform administration in a fast-evolving environment Interest in building scalable systems for real-world impact What the Candidate Will Work On The selected candidate will contribute to: AI-enabled surveillance platforms Data and API platforms Geospatial decision-support systems Environmental and clinical surveillance tools Scalable cloud infrastructure for AI and analytics systems Digital public-good technology platforms About ARTPARK ARTPARK @ IISc (AI & Robotics Technology Park) fosters innovations in AI & Robotics by bringing together the best of research, startup, industry, and government ecosystems.
