CAE Engineer - Structural

At Ascend Performance Materials , we are seeking a highly skilled CAE Engineer Structural to join our global engineering team. In this role, you will conduct structural finite element analysis (FEA) simulations on polyamide components to support product development, design optimization, and advanced customer applications. You will also act as a technical consultant providing engineering expertise on material performance, failure analysis, and root-cause investigations Role & responsibilities Conduct structural FEA simulations (static, dynamic, fatigue, and creep analyses) to meet project timelines and program milestones. Leverage CAE tools to predict and optimize the performance of engineering plastics in customer applications, balancing cost, weight, and manufacturability. Validate and correlate simulation results with physical testing and real-world component performance to improve model accuracy. Perform structural integrity analyses for root cause investigations, including durability, deformation, and failure assessments. Collaborate with regional application development engineers to manage material characterization data and technical customer presentations. Develop and implement innovative simulation methodologies and best practices for emerging applications Key Highlights of the Role: Advanced Physics: Dive deep into non-linear material behaviors, crashworthiness, durability, fatigue, and creep analysis. End-to-End Impact: Work from initial design optimization to physical test correlation and root cause failure analysis. Global Exposure: Direct collaboration with international application development managers and Tier-1/OEM customers. Required Skills & Experience Core Tools: Advanced proficiency in structural FEA solvers and pre/post-processors, specifically Abaqus and Hyperworks (or Hypermesh ). Domain Knowledge: 8+ years of automotive or general industrial CAE experience with a deep understanding of plastic components , injection molding processes, and plastic mechanical behavior. Analysis Types: Strong experience in handling nonlinear material behavior , load path evaluations, fatigue, and creep analysis.
