Senior Java Developer Experience: 8+ Years Location: Indore/Pune Job Description Senior Java Developer responsible for designing, building, and operating the Java backend that powers the Data Hub application. The role centres on high-throughput REST/streaming API development and real-time data pipelines that ingest, transform, and serve data at scale. The developer will own services end to end – design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support – and collaborate with data engineering, platform, and product teams to deliver reliable, performant, and well-documented backend capabilities. Key Duties and Tasks • Design and develop RESTful and event-driven APIs for the Data Hub using Java (17+) and Spring Boot. • Build and maintain real-time data streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka (producers/consumers, Kafka Streams). • Model, optimize, and integrate with relational and NoSQL data stores; write efficient queries and manage schemas. • Implement robust API contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger), versioning, authentication/authorization, rate limiting, and error handling. • Ensure services are observable and production-ready – logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and CI/CD automation. • Write unit, integration, and performance tests; participate in code reviews and uphold engineering standards. • Troubleshoot and tune performance, latency, and throughput of streaming and API workloads. • Collaborate with data engineers and architects on Data Hub ingestion, transformation, and serving layers. Qualifications and Skills Required: Strong hands-on Java backend engineering with proven API development and real-time streaming experience; able to design scalable, fault-tolerant services and work independently in a fast-paced data platform environment. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's a plus). Experience : 6+ years building production Java backend systems, including significant experience with high-volume API development and event/stream processing. Experience in data-intensive platforms, data hubs, or similar large-scale data applications is strongly preferred. Industry experience in manufacturing, automotive, finance, or healthcare data is a plus. Preference for candidates with data hub / data platform backend experience and demonstrable real-time streaming work. Portfolio or examples of high-throughput API and Kafka-based systems welcome.
