Software Quality Engineer I

Role Overview: As a Software Quality Engineer at AspenTech, you will be responsible for creating and executing testing approaches for the market-leading Operational Technology (OT) products. Your key objective will be to design and develop low maintenance and portable test automation scripts using the latest industry technologies. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the product line conforms to established requirements and standards by creating robust test strategies and searching out product issues. Additionally, you will collaborate with R&D and Product Management to drive quality best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Design, build, execute, and maintain test automation for backend, UI, and API testing. - Create automated test scripts for non-functional system verification. - Work within CI/CD pipelines to build, configure, and patch multiple test environments. - Perform requirements analysis, create and execute test strategies and test cases, troubleshoot issues, and report defects. - Manually execute complex functional and non-functional tests. - Engage with cross-functional and international teams on status updates and problem solving in an agile environment. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. - 0-3 years' work experience. - High level scripting skills in Python, Perl, and Shell scripting. - Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments. - System Administration experience, preferably with small system or personal networks. - Understanding of manual and automated testing best practices. - Desire to automate, monitor, and continually improve processes. - Experience with database technologies such as SQL, Cassandra, and MongoDB. - Understanding of Configuration Management. - Knowledge of automation tool building and test automation frameworks. - Capability to maintain Windows/Linux/UNIX Servers. - Experience in server virtualization, particularly with VMWare and VSphere. - General networking skills including Layer 2 & 3 switches, TCP/IP, SNMP, etc. - Experience with a source control system like CVS, Subversion, Git, etc. Role Overview: As a Software Quality Engineer at AspenTech, you will be responsible for creating and executing testing approaches for the market-leading Operational Technology (OT) products.
