About the role
As an IT QA Analyst at Assurant-GCC India, your role will involve ensuring the reliability and functionality of software products, with a focus on insurance industry knowledge. You will work in a Scrum environment and be responsible for various testing activities to contribute to overall product quality. Your duties and responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases tailored for insurance applications. - Conducting various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance, and compliance testing against insurance industry regulations. - Identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects using bug tracking systems like Jira. - Participating in the review of requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide feedback on impacts to insurance workflows and data. - Developing and maintaining automated test scripts using relevant tools and frameworks, focusing on creating efficient tests for insurance business processes. - Contributing to the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools, with insights from best practices in insurance software quality assurance. - Monitoring and reporting on testing progress, results, and product quality metrics, including risk assessments specific to insurance operations. - Working effectively in an Agile Scrum development environment, participating in all agile ceremonies. To qualify for this position, you will need: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing, with a significant focus on the insurance industry. - In-depth understanding of core insurance business processes, terminology, and products. - Strong knowledge of test processes, standard industry testing practices, and QA methodologies. - Experience with API Data Testing and Web UI using API testing tools like Postman and SoapUI. - Automation experience with tools like Selenium and Playwright. - Knowledge of test management tools like ADO, ALM, or Confluence. - Proficiency in Agile and Scrum practices. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in complex insurance scenarios. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical issues and business logic. Preferred requirements for this position include: - Experience testing specific insurance modules or systems. - Experience working in a multicultural environment with distributed teams. - Knowledge of performance testing concepts and tools like JMeter and LoadRunner. - Certifications in Agile Testing Automation. This position offers the opportunity to work in Hyderabad, India, with a 5-day workweek from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM IST. Additional projects and assignments may be assigned to meet the evolving needs of the department and company.
