Sr Software Engineer

As a Senior Developer at Assurant, you will be working with international clients, business partners, architects, developers, and other IT groups to understand and design technical solutions for desired capabilities. Your key responsibilities will include: - Driving the development of design and build phases of the project - Communicating frequently with management on project status, issues, or news - Leading the projects in the development process as required - Promoting and ensuring the team follows methodology and development process standards set by the Architects - Participating in design reviews and leading software reviews for consistency with best practices, standards, and architecture guidelines - Proactively finding solutions to problems, documenting procedures, and driving the problem resolution approach - Collaborating with Architects and other leads to design the appropriate solution using the Architect guidelines - Ensuring design meets user requirements and expectations - Analyzing conditions and strategies to minimize implementation risk and/or improve system reliability and performance - Facilitating the integration of components and systems - Demonstrating drive and leadership on projects and assignments - Meeting with the team frequently to discuss issues, progress, questions, open items, etc. - Delivering all project commitments with quality and on schedule Qualifications for this role include: - Completion of Bachelors degree in MIS, CS, Technical Certification, etc. or 5-10 years of experience - Application-specific certifications are considered a plus - Excellent written communication skills - Broad knowledge of web applications and infrastructure - Strong knowledge of distributed systems - Experience with Microservices design and development - Experience with cloud application design patterns - Previous experience in technology services-related work - Hands-on Scrum experience - Fluent in English is required Technology requirements include expertise in distributed technologies such as C#/.NET 6+, ASP.NET Core, LINQ, async/await, RESTful design, and strong debugging and performance profiling. Additionally, experience in Oracle, .NET DRY/SOLID Principles, APIM, event-driven architectures, CI/CD, IaC, and other technologies are required.
