As a Linux Systems Engineer at AST SpaceMobile, your primary responsibility will be to manage and optimize our Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems. You will work closely with the engineering teams to ensure the reliability and performance of our engineering infrastructure. Here is a breakdown of your key responsibilities: - System Administration: - Design, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers and workstations for CAD applications. - Ensure high availability, usage optimization, and performance of these systems. - CAD Management: - Support and manage CAD tools and environments, including installation, configuration, license management, and troubleshooting. - Collaborate with engineering teams to understand requirements and provide solutions. - Automation: - Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for system management tasks like software deployment, system monitoring, and backup processes. - Security and Compliance: - Implement and maintain security measures to protect CAD systems and data. - Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards. - Performance Monitoring: - Monitor system performance and resource utilization. - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks for smooth operation of CAD applications. - Collaboration: - Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of CAD systems. - Provide technical support and guidance to users. Your qualifications for this role should include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux system administration, focusing on supporting Grid/scheduling systems and License environments (FlexLM). - Proficiency in Linux operating systems, scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python), version control (e.g., GIT, Gitlab), and CAD tools. - Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) and network protocols and services. - Familiarity with configuration management tools.
