Job Title: MV Design Engineer Company: Astek Electrical India Pvt. Ltd. Location: Surat Employment Type: Full-time About the Role Astek Electrical India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MV Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, engineering, and documentation of Medium Voltage (MV) electrical systems, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, project specifications, and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Design Medium Voltage (MV) electrical systems, switchgear, and distribution solutions for industrial and commercial projects. Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), general arrangement (GA) drawings, control schematics, cable schedules, and bill of materials (BOM). Perform electrical calculations, including load calculations, cable sizing, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, and protection coordination. Develop engineering documents in accordance with IEC, IS, and relevant international standards. Review customer specifications and project requirements to ensure design compliance. Coordinate with sales, project management, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the project lifecycle. Support technical discussions with customers, consultants, and vendors. Evaluate vendor drawings and technical documents for compliance with project requirements. Provide engineering support during manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and site execution when required. Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and standardization while maintaining quality and safety. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Strong understanding of MV switchgear, protection systems, transformers, power distribution, and electrical components. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Experience with electrical design software such as ETAP, EPLAN, or similar tools is an advantage. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Preferred Skills Experience in designing MV panels, RMUs, VCB panels, or power distribution systems. Familiarity with protection relays and control logic. Knowledge of electrical safety standards and industry best practices. Experience working with EPC, industrial, or utility projects.
