Role Overview: You will be responsible for managing databases on AWS and Azure, ensuring their performance, security, availability, and scalability. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to optimize database design and provide technical support for complex issues. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and upgrade database software on AWS and Azure. - Monitor performance, optimize queries, and conduct regular tuning. - Implement and test robust backup and recovery strategies. - Establish and maintain database security, including access controls and encryption. - Migrate and replicate data across AWS and Azure platforms. - Ensure database availability and scalability with failover mechanisms and load balancing. - Work with development teams, system administrators, and network engineers. - Provide Level 3 and 4 technical support, troubleshooting complex issues. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. - Certifications in AWS Certified Database - Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate. - 1-3+ years proven experience as a Database Administrator. - Background in pharmaceutical or healthcare domains is advantageous. - Proficiency in relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases. - Experience with AWS environments, RDS, and CI/CD methodologies. - Knowledge of Azure services, cloud-native databases, and integration services. - Strong skills in SQL for data manipulation and query optimization. - Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Pyspark for big data testing. - Ability to validate data transformations and understand data lineage. - Prior experience leading testing teams or projects. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and their data services. - Ability to identify performance gaps and promote continuous improvement. - Adherence to DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines. - Ability to understand and interpret business requirements and translate them into technical requirements. - Ability to identify data-driven insights and improvements. - Troubleshoot complex issues for internal users and ensure system uptime. - Optimize existing data and platform architecture. - Stay informed about data engineering and cloud trends.
