About the role
As a Senior Wireless Network Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at our company, your primary responsibility will be to design, optimize, and maintain large-scale wireless network infrastructures to ensure reliability, availability, performance, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with network engineering, automation, and operations teams to achieve these goals. Key Responsibilities: - Network Reliability & Operations: - Design, deploy, and support enterprise-grade wireless network solutions such as Wi-Fi 5/6/6E, cellular, point-to-point, and RF systems. - Monitor network performance, identify degradation, and implement necessary corrective actions. - Conduct root cause analysis for wireless network outages or latency issues. - Optimize wireless coverage, capacity, and spectrum utilization. - Automation & SRE Practices: - Develop automation for monitoring, configuration management, and incident response utilizing tools like Python, Ansible, or Terraform. - Implement SRE principles including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for wireless systems. - Build self-healing solutions and automate manual tasks to reduce operational load. - Performance Engineering: - Conduct RF surveys using tools like Ekahau or AirMagnet and perform wireless performance benchmarking. - Troubleshoot complex L1/L2/L3 wireless networking issues. - Optimize controller-based wireless networks from vendors like Cisco, Aruba, Juniper Mist, and Ruckus. - Security & Compliance: - Implement wireless security standards such as WPA3, 802.1X, NAC, and zero-trust principles. - Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and industry standards. - Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: - Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including cloud, networking, infrastructure, and security. - Serve as a senior escalation point for critical wireless incidents. - Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. - 58 years of experience in wireless networking, RF engineering, or network SRE roles. - Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi standards, wireless controllers, access points, network protocols, RF fundamentals, spectrum analysis, automation tools, and Linux/Unix systems.
