About the role
As an experienced Product Manager at athenahealth's Clinicals division, you will take ownership of a defined product area within a broader portfolio. You will be working at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and AI to shape product strategy, define meaningful features, and deliver trusted clinical solutions. This role is part of the Mobile team and involves close collaboration with Engineering, Data Science, UX, and Patient Safety partners to drive both core product capabilities and AI-enabled clinical workflows. Key Responsibilities: - Define and manage the product strategy and roadmap for an assigned product area - Prioritize the backlog and guide day-to-day delivery with engineering and scrum teams - Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements for successful implementation - Evaluate customer needs, market trends, and business opportunities in partnership with cross-functional teams - Lead product discovery activities including problem identification, concept testing, and solution validation - Design AI-enabled features with data science and engineering teams for usable and appropriate clinical workflows - Define expected behavior of AI capabilities including trust, explainability, and human oversight requirements - Monitor product performance post-release using data and user feedback for continuous improvement - Support launch planning, adoption efforts, and resolution of production issues - Contribute to build-versus-buy evaluations, alpha and beta feedback management, and measurement frameworks - Coordinate with legal, compliance, sales, marketing, and operations teams as required Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required with preference given to Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or related fields - Minimum 5 years of product management experience - Experience working in an Agile environment - Strong understanding of AI and ML concepts and their application in product delivery - Familiarity with model lifecycle concepts such as training, validation, deployment, and monitoring - Knowledge of data pipelines, data quality considerations, and experimentation methods - Understanding of responsible AI principles including bias, explainability, and trust - Technical understanding of mobile, SaaS, data, and APIs to assess feasibility and timelines - Experience in healthcare or health technology is preferred - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas Join athenahealth to work in a mission-driven environment where your product decisions directly impact the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery across the country.
