Role Overview: You will be responsible for leading and aligning shift members in the Paintshop - Liquid Paint & Rework department at Ather to achieve key performance indicators under the SQCDM pillars. Your main focus will be on ensuring seamless battery manufacturing operations by aligning resources, planning training for multiskilling, and maintaining a performance-oriented work environment. Key Responsibilities: - Provide technical oversight for Liquid Paint applications, including equipment operation and process sequencing - Oversee the setting and monitoring of critical parameters (film thickness, viscosity, voltage) and chemical formulations to prevent defects - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in production technology and implement relevant innovations - Ensure smooth running and good health of the production processes, along with the upkeep of the plant and equipment - Perform automotive/industrial paint rework, including defect identification, wet/dry sanding, compounding, polishing, and spot blending - Execute spot repairs, blending, and full-panel repainting to correct paint defects such as sags, runs, orange peel, dirt inclusions, and scratches - Proficient in surface preparation techniques for rework, including masking, degreasing, and wet/dry sanding - Execute advanced compounding, buffing, and polishing techniques to restore reworked surfaces to required quality and gloss standards - Ensure seamless color matching, blending, and uniform finish on all reworked areas to match the original paint job - Champion quality and standards to ensure product quality aligns with company's systems, processes, and procedures - Maintain audit readiness for internal process and stock audits as well as external ISO certifications - Coordinate change management processes and collaborate with Spec Ops to implement containment actions Qualifications Required: - Education: B.E in Chemical, Mechanical, Production Engineering - Experience: 5+ years of experience in a Paintshop (Automotive or 2 wheeler Manufacturing preferred), with at least 2 years in a supervisory role - Must-Have Competencies: Expert-level people management, advanced presentation and communication skills, lean manufacturing knowledge, quality improvement tools proficiency, understanding of industry safety standards and labor laws Company Details: At Ather, they have developed India's first intelligent scooter, focusing on clean design and smart technology to transform the urban commute experience.
