About the role
As a Platform Engineer at Atlys, you will play a crucial role in our Infra & Security team, focusing on optimizing our GKE clusters, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stack to ensure the reliability and scalability of our systems as we facilitate visa processing across various countries. Here is a breakdown of your key responsibilities: - Manage and optimize Kubernetes (GKE) clusters, including deployments, scaling, resource management, and upgrades - Maintain self-hosted PostgreSQL databases by performing performance tuning, backups, storage, and ensuring high availability - Own and enhance GCP infrastructure, covering networking, IAM, storage, and compute resources - Debug production issues spanning from container networking to database performance - Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to enable fast and reliable deployments while incorporating robust security measures - Enhance observability systems such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus for effective alerting and visibility - Improve monitoring and tracing capabilities for better debugging and performance analysis - Plan and execute infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery processes - Manage vulnerabilities across infrastructure, including VMs and containers - Develop internal tools and automation scripts using Python/Bash to boost developer productivity and reduce manual effort - Collaborate closely with engineering teams to enhance deployment, debugging, and overall workflows Qualifications required for this role include: - 1.53 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles - Strong ownership mindset with a bias for action - Experience with Kubernetes and debugging containerized environments - Familiarity with GCP services like GKE, VPC, IAM, and Cloud Storage - Solid understanding of PostgreSQL fundamentals, including performance and backups - Knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, load balancing, VPCs, and firewalls - Experience in building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines - Hands-on experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki - Proficiency in scripting with Python and Bash for automation - Exposure to development environments and workflows - Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers - Comfortable working in fast-paced startup environments If your profile aligns with the requirements, the hiring journey at Atlys involves an initial intro chat with the People team within 7 days of application, followed by discussions with the hiring manager and a peer.
