Role Description As a LiveKit / VOIP Backend Developer at Swades AI, you will build and maintain scalable, low-latency backend services that power real-time audio and video communication for a US-based startup client. You will design, implement, and optimize LiveKit- and VOIP-related services and APIs, ensuring reliability, security, and high performance in production environments. Day to day, you will write clean, maintainable backend code, integrate with front-end and mobile clients, manage deployments, monitor system health, and troubleshoot production issues. You will collaborate closely with AI engineers, product managers, and front-end developers to translate requirements into robust backend architectures and features. This is a full-time, remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to a global product. Qualifications - Strong programming foundations, with solid experience in general-purpose Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). - Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration with real-time communication (LiveKit, WebRTC, VOIP or similar). - Understanding of Front-End Development fundamentals to effectively collaborate with client-side teams and design API contracts. - Demonstrated Software Development experience, including version control (Git), testing, debugging, and working in agile or iterative environments. - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and performance monitoring for production systems. - Familiarity with security best practices for real-time communication systems, including authentication, authorization, and data protection. - Strong problem-solving skills, explicit communication, and the ability to work independently in a distributed, remote team. - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
