About the role

Designation: Electrical Engineer / Manager Ship Electrical Equipment Installation Employment Type: Permanent Number of Positions: 01 Qualification: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering / Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Marine Engineering Experience: 6 to 12 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore electrical projects, or marine electrical installations. Job Responsibilities: Execute and supervise installation activities of ship electrical equipment including switchboards, transformers, generators, MCCs, and distribution panels. Perform cable laying, routing, glanding, termination, and tagging activities as per electrical drawings and project requirements. Install and inspect lighting systems, emergency systems, and earthing arrangements. Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment layouts. Conduct electrical testing including insulation resistance (Megger) testing, continuity checks, and termination quality inspections. Support pre-commissioning activities, system energization, and commissioning of electrical systems. Assist and coordinate during harbour trials and sea trials. Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices. Conduct troubleshooting of electrical faults and ensure effective rectification. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and technicians for timely completion of installation activities. Prepare and maintain installation progress reports, testing records, and documentation. Key Skills: Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and shipboard power distribution. Hands-on experience with cable management, routing, glanding, termination, and tagging practices. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and interconnection diagrams. Knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting procedures. Understanding of ship electrical equipment installation and safety standards. Good coordination and team management skills.
