About the role
As a Project Specific Research Engineer in the Durability domain at Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune, your role will involve building complete vehicle models, meshing, applying boundary conditions, and setting up load cases. You will be responsible for conducting static, dynamic, and fatigue analysis using FEA tools such as HyperMesh, OptiStruct, Nastran, Abaqus, Design life/FEMFAT, etc. Your contribution will include supporting design validation through simulation-driven insights, providing design improvement recommendations, and executing linear and nonlinear structural analysis, including contact, large deformation, and material nonlinearity studies. Additionally, you will be involved in fatigue life assessment, spot weld fatigue analysis for assemblies, preparing technical reports and presentations, participating in design reviews, and contributing to achieving target performance and durability goals. Key Responsibilities: - Build complete vehicle models, meshing, apply boundary conditions, and set up load cases - Conduct static, dynamic, and fatigue analysis using FEA tools - Support design validation and provide improvement recommendations - Execute linear and nonlinear structural analysis - Perform fatigue life assessment and spot weld fatigue analysis - Prepare technical reports and presentations - Participate in design reviews Qualifications Required: - Bachelors BE/ME/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed University - Minimum First Class - 3-6 years of overall experience in durability domain - Strong proficiency in FEA pre/post-processing tools like HyperMesh - Experience with solvers such as Abaqus, OptiStruct, Nastran - Knowledge of fatigue life prediction tools like nCode or FEMFAT - Understanding of material behavior, load cases, and vehicle/component testing methods As part of the Durability team at ARAI, you will be based in HTC - Chakan and may be required to work in shifts.
