About the role
As a Returns Experience Automation Analyst at Avalara in Pune, your role involves partnering with the tax compliance team to deliver process and product automation solutions. You will contribute to Avalara's tax and compliance automation strategies while enhancing the overall service experience. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing technical skills to utilize AI and RPA tools - Engaging cross-functionally to drive and deliver process automation - Performing data analysis and supporting special projects - Supporting product setup and customer settings review - Preparing and filing indirect tax returns by applying jurisdiction knowledge to compliance services - Monitoring tech changes from state/local authorities - Leading process/product improvements for efficiency and risk reduction To be successful in this role, you will need: - Experience with RPA tools like Power Automate and UiPath - Quick learning ability for new software and tools to adapt to tax and compliance tasks - Consistent meeting of deadlines with strong attention to detail, accountability, and ownership - Being a team player with strong cross-functional collaboration skills - Willingness to work swing shifts (2 pm to 11 pm) Education and Experience requirements: - Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics, or Computer Science - Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - 3 years of experience in finance, tax, compliance, or automation roles - Experience in corporate tax, finance, banking, or Department of Revenue (DOR) - Background in implementing financial or tax automation systems - Hands-on experience with RPA for process automation Avalara is an AI-first company where AI is embedded in workflows, decision-making, and products.
