Senior User Interface Developer

As a Senior UI Developer at Farnell, an Avnet company, you will be part of the dynamic UI development team responsible for building and maintaining the global large-scale eCommerce platform. Your expertise in React/TypeScript, Node.js, and Apollo Client will be crucial for delivering responsive, high-performance user interfaces to ensure a seamless customer experience. Working in cross-functional teams, you will contribute to small Agile changes and huge strategic projects. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the development of user interfaces using React and related libraries to create interactive, user-friendly, and visually appealing applications. - Collaborate with BAs, Product Owners, UX/UI designers, and back-end engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions for a cohesive e-commerce experience. - Optimize UI performance for fast load times, smooth navigation, and responsiveness across devices. - Implement data fetching and state management through Apollo Client and integrate the UI with RESTful and GraphQL APIs built with Node.js. - Mentor junior and mid-level developers, offering guidance on React development, front-end architecture, and best practices. - Stay updated with the latest front-end technologies, especially within the React ecosystem and eCommerce trends. - Work with back-end engineers to integrate front-end with back-end services and contribute to shaping the architecture and performance of the application stack. Qualifications Required: - Proven experience as a Front-End or UI Developer with hands-on React/TypeScript experience. - Strong understanding of React and its ecosystem, along with experience in Apollo Client and GraphQL queries. - Proficiency in Node.js, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6). - Experience with responsive design and front-end testing frameworks like Jest. - Familiarity with Gitlab, GitFlow version control, and optimizing UI performance for large-scale applications. - Ability to collaborate with UX/UI designers and translate prototypes into high-quality user interfaces. - Previous experience in Agile/Scrum development environment and familiarity with Headless CMS solutions like Bloomreach would be beneficial.
