About the role
A Piping Design Engineer creates detailed 3D models, 2D layouts, and isometric drawings for industrial piping systems . They ensure safe fluid transport, resolve cross-discipline clashes, and manage Material Take-Offs (MTO) across sectors like oil and gas, petrochemicals, and power generation Key Responsibilities Design & Modeling: Develop piping system layouts, equipment arrangements, and 3D models using CAD software like AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, or SP3D. [1, 2] Calculations & Analysis: Perform hydraulic calculations, determine pipe sizing, and coordinate stress analysis inputs (e.g., Caesar II). [1, 2] Documentation: Translate P&IDs into accurate isometric drawings, generate Bills of Materials (BOM), and prepare technical specifications. [1] Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with process, mechanical, and civil/structural engineering teams to resolve clashes and route conflicts.
