About the role
ABOUT US Join a team that is redefining the accessibility of space. Azista space is a transformative force in the global aerospace sector, uniquely positioned at the intersection of indigenous innovation and industrial scalability. Operating India's first private-sector satellite mass-production facility in Ahmedabad, we have bridged the gap between complex engineering and high-volume manufacturing. As a vertically integrated leader, we provide end-to-end solutions from the precision design of satellite buses and advanced payloads to mission management and communication systems. We don't just build hardware, we are democratizing the final frontier by providing global clientele with the cost-effective, high-performance technology needed to power the next generation of orbital missions. At Azista, you won't just be starting a job, you'll be fuelling the future of space exploration. JOB SUMMARY Azista Space is redefining global access to space. As a vertically integrated leader operating India's first private-sector satellite mass-production facility, we bridge the gap between complex aerospace engineering and scalable manufacturing. We provide end-to-end solutions—from precision satellite buses and advanced payloads to mission management—delivering reliable, cost-effective, high-performance technology to global clientele. We are seeking a Systems Engineer – Spacecraft Electronics to join our engineering hub in Bengaluru. In this end-to-end lifecycle role, you will take ownership of spacecraft avionics, RF systems, power distribution, and embedded electronics—driving systems from initial concept architecture through launch campaigns and in-orbit operations. As a core owner of mission-critical systems, you will directly manage subsystem integration, system budgets (power, mass, and data handling), hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) qualification, and space-grade reliability assurance. If you are passionate about building scalable, high-availability space systems that push the boundaries of accessible space technology, this is your opportunity to leave a mark on orbital history. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Architect & Design Subsystems: Define system architectures, data-handling strategies, and budgets (power, mass, link) for spacecraft avionics, RF systems, and power distribution modules. Lead Qualification & Environmental Testing: Plan and execute functional validation, HIL/SIL testing, TVAC (Thermal Vacuum), vibration, shock, and EMI/EMC compliance campaigns. Ensure Space-Grade Reliability: Perform radiation analysis (TID, SEE), FMEA/FMECA, derating analysis, and Worst-Case Analysis (WCA) to guarantee mission success. Embedded & FPGA Integration: Design and validate FPGA-based systems, embedded controllers, and space-grade communication interfaces using VHDL/Verilog and microcontrollers. Cross-Subsystem Integration: Interface spacecraft electronics with EPS, OBDH, ADCS, propulsion, and payload systems to ensure seamless interoperability across the bus. Support Mission & Launch Operations: Participate actively in spacecraft launch campaigns, LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase), in-orbit commissioning, and anomaly resolution. Author Engineering Lifecycle Documentation: Draft and maintain mission-critical Interface Control Documents (ICDs), CONOPS, V&V plans, and lead technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR). WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in satellite systems engineering, spacecraft avionics, RF electronics, or aerospace systems integration. Technical Breadth: Strong expertise in spacecraft power systems, PCB design, embedded systems, and FPGA architectures. Space Protocols: Proficiency with space-grade communication interfaces and protocols (SpaceWire, CAN, MIL-STD-1553, I2C, SPI, UART). Testing & Reliability: Demonstrated experience in EMI/EMC compliance, radiation-hardened design principles, FMEA/FMECA, and environmental qualification testing. Software & Tools: Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, circuit simulation tools, and hardware testing workflows; familiarity with VHDL/Verilog. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline. PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS Mission Experience: Prior work on smallsat/microsat constellations, COTS-for-space architectures, or modular satellite platforms. Aerospace Standards: Deep familiarity with ECSS, ISRO, ESA, or MIL-STD qualification standards. EDA & Automation: Proficiency with Altium Designer or KiCad, along with Python/MATLAB scripting for test automation and telemetry analysis. Flight Operations: Exposure to live spacecraft integration campaigns, LEOP, or in-orbit troubleshooting. Advanced Degree: Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Systems Engineering. WHY JOIN US High-Impact Mission: Work on real orbital hardware that scales space accessibility on a global level. End-to-End Ownership: Experience the entire mission lifecycle—from CAD and breadboards to launch and in-orbit operations—rather than being siloed in a single phase. Industrial Innovation: Collaborate directly with our flagship satellite mass-production ecosystems, combining cutting-edge R&D with industrial scalability. Collaborative Culture: Thrive alongside world-class aerospace engineers, embedded software experts, and mission directors in a fast-paced, innovation-first environment. Competitive Package: Excellent growth trajectory, competitive salary, and comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
