Backend Engineer - Java

You will be responsible for designing and developing high-volume, low-latency backend services for real-time systems. You will also build and maintain scalable microservices and RESTful APIs. Additionally, you will design database schemas, optimize SQL and ClickHouse query performance, and build high-scale data pipelines using Airflow. Identifying bottlenecks across the stack, resolving production and non-production issues, and translating business requirements into clear technical designs are also part of your responsibilities. You will collaborate with product, data, and frontend teams to ship scalable products and contribute to code reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency backend services for real-time systems - Building and maintaining scalable microservices and RESTful APIs - Designing database schemas, optimizing SQL and ClickHouse query performance - Building and operating high-scale data pipelines using Airflow - Identifying bottlenecks across the stack, resolving production and non-production issues - Translating business requirements into clear technical designs and low-level specs - Collaborating with product, data, and frontend teams to ship scalable products - Contributing to code reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices Qualifications Required: - 2-6 years of backend development experience in scalable, distributed systems - Strong coding skills in Java (Spring, JPA) or an equivalent backend stack - Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices - Hands-on experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and query optimization - Experience with NoSQL or analytical stores (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, ClickHouse) - Exposure to workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and managed services - Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design Please note that the company details are not included in the provided job description.
