About the role
Role Overview: Join the banking revolution at Backbase, the global leader in Engagement Banking, where you will be part of the R&D organization as a skilled System Engineer with a strong focus on Azure. The L3 team, responsible for managing customers and internal runtimes, emphasizes the highest professional standards in cloud ops, focusing on resilience, availability, and scalability. Key Responsibilities: - Implement and manage Azure cloud infrastructure to provide customers with access to top Azure features. - Contribute to best practices for cloud security, compliance, and disaster recovery. - Ensure compliant, secure, and cost-effective operations of the solution. - Maintain maximum reliability, high availability, and uptime of managed hosting services. - Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. - Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, ensuring resilience, availability, and scalability. - Enhance operational efficiency and control cloud costs. - Utilize cloud infrastructure security knowledge and expertise in cloud-native technologies. - Proficient with tools like GitHub, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Istio, and Grafana. - Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and decision-making. - Minimum 3 years of system engineering experience with 2 years in Azure cloud services. - Azure competencies including Azure Front Door, WAF, Azure Service Bus, Azure SQL Database, Azure Regions, Availability Zones, and DR. - Combine technical excellence with mentorship skills to guide peers. - Automation-first mindset to ensure predictability and automation in processes. - Proven track record in implementing scalable, highly-available cloud infrastructure. - Experience with Azure is a plus, as well as software development, networking, and DB administration. - Excellent English communication skills. Qualifications Required: - At least 3 years of system engineering experience, with a minimum of 2 years working with Azure cloud services. - Proficiency in Azure competencies such as Azure Front Door, WAF, Azure Service Bus, Azure SQL Database, Azure Regions, Availability Zones, and DR. - Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and decision-making. - Experience in automation and implementing scalable cloud infrastructure.
