Cloud DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Automation:

Author Terraform code from scratch, including creation and maintenance of reusable modules. Manage Terraform upgrades, state (local vs S3), imports for existing resources, and workspace management.

Cloud & Container Orchestration:

Build and maintain Docker containers; create standard images using Packer. Design, deploy, and manage solutions using AWS services such as Batch, Lambda, Step Functions (State Machine), ECS, and Sage Maker. Implement progressive delivery strategies (canary, blue-green deployments).

CI/CD Pipeline Development:

Design and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines, emphasizing reusable templates and best practices. Create and register GitLab runners for scalable automation. Build pipelines for technologies such as Python, React, and Angular, integrating unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Integrate security, linting, and static code analysis into CI/CD workflows. Manage secrets securely within Terraform and GitLab pipelines. Promote code and infrastructure changes across environments (dev, staging, prod).

Observability & Security:

Centralize monitoring and logging (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, Splunk).

Cloud Architecture & Networking:

Leverage broad AWS service knowledge and networking expertise. Work extensively in Linux environments.

Good to Have

Hands-on experience with EKS deployment and operations. Knowledge of security practices, WAF, and AWS architecture. Understanding of backup and disaster recovery strategies. Familiarity with agentic AI concepts and applications. Experience using Dependabot, fortify, mend, Tanium for vulnerability and dependency management.

Must-Have Skills

Expert in writing and modularizing Terraform code, adept at state management and upgrades. Deep understanding of GitLab CI/CD principles, reusable templates, runner management. Experience with building CI/CD pipelines for Python, React, Angular (including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing). Experience with Docker, Packer, and AWS services (Batch, Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, Sage Maker). Proficient in managing secrets, integrating security and code quality checks in pipelines. Strong Linux administration skills.
