About the role
The Senior DevOps and Platform Engineer for the National Accounts Division (NAD) platform is responsible for orchestrating, automating, and securing a production-grade, highly available platform deployed entirely on unmanaged bare-metal Virtual Machines within the RailTel data center. Operating from the Linux operating system level upward, the engineer will construct an air-gapped container infrastructure using RKE2 Kubernetes and MetalLB, while routing and rate-limiting edge traffic through an Apache APISIX gateway. To guarantee maximum disk performance, the role demands managing a strict hybrid data plane that isolates stateless microservices from heavy, core big data clusters such as PostgreSQL, Strimzi Kafka, Apache NiFi, Apache Airflow, and MinIO object storage. A critical aspect of this position involves architecting zero-trust access and identity governance by integrating Teleport to act as the mandatory Database Access Management Tool (DAMT), Keycloak for unified Single Sign-On, and HashiCorp Vault for dynamic secrets and AES-256 encryption lifecycle management. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will build out automated GitOps pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Tekton, and Harbor, while establishing robust platform observability via a centralized ELK Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana to maintain continuous operational health and ensure full readiness for mandatory STQC and CERT-In Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) audits.
Containerized environment operations, secrets rotation, CI/CD support, log monitoring, infra health tracking
