About the role
As a DevOps Sr Staff/Principal Engineer at Balbix, your role is critical in setting up our engineers for success and ensuring the delivery of a best-in-class and scalable platform. You will work in various hosting environments with a focus on AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), continuous deployment, and observability. Key Responsibilities: - Lead critical DevOps projects, set technical direction, and influence the organization's technical strategy. - Solve complex problems, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact DevOps solutions. - Design and develop IaC components for Balbix solutions and internal engineering tools in AWS. - Build and deploy a security SaaS platform using CI/CD techniques, ensuring automation, repeatability, and security. - Secure infrastructure using best practices such as TLS, bastion hosts, certificate management, and network segmentation. - Design and implement a scalable deployment infrastructure on Kubernetes. - Establish consistent observability systems for Balbix solutions. - Participate in on-call rotation. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field. - 10+ years of DevOps experience for Sr Staff or 12-15 years for Principal. - 4+ years of experience managing infrastructure in AWS for a product development organization. - Ability to architect, design, document, and implement complex platforms and DevOps systems independently. - Solid understanding of AWS infrastructure and services like IAM, EC2, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, etc. - Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Python, Ansible, GitLab, Jenkins, Nginx, HAProxy, and other cloud components. - Knowledge of CI/CD technologies and observability systems like Grafana, Prometheus, and LGTM stack. - Cloud certifications and MLOps experience are a plus. - Excellent time management and communication skills. - Availability for on-call duties.
