As a Data Ops DQ Analyst at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and excellence in the digital landscape. Your responsibilities will include: - Having a solid understanding of accounting principles, the flow of accounting transactions, and their representation in a Banks financial statements. - Understanding data elements, data lineage, data flow, and their impact on Finance data quality. - Analyzing data, identifying trends, interpreting patterns, and understanding interrelationships; proficiency in basic Excel functions is required. - Documenting findings in a visually appealing and intuitive manner for reporting to senior management; technical proficiency in visualization tools will be a plus. - Demonstrating excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Showcasing skills such as a keen eye for detail, investigative mindset, and ability to troubleshoot issues. The purpose of the role is to provide financial expertise and support to specific business units or departments within the organization. You will act as a liaison between the finance function and various business units, helping to bridge the gap between financial data and business decisions. Your accountabilities will include: - Developing and implementing business unit financial strategies, plans, and budgets. - Creating financial models to forecast future performance, assess investment opportunities, and evaluate financial risks. - Collaborating cross-functionally to provide financial insights and guidance. - Identifying opportunities and implementing financial process improvements. - Providing support to business units in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks. - Analyzing and presenting financial data to provide insights into business performance. As an Analyst, you are expected to perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard consistently driving continuous improvement.
