About the role
Role Overview: As a AVP (Team Lead) for the RIS team at Barclays in Pune, your main responsibility will be to take charge of the RIS processes assigned to you. This includes managing the daily operational process of validating the Time Series (TS) data of different asset classes and acting as a subject matter expert (SME) and Lead for Market Data Time series process, control, and projects. You are expected to collaborate closely with various stakeholders including front-line desk, QA, and risk management teams. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and provide local oversight of RIS Time Series responsibilities in Pune - Manage the operational aspects of daily deliverables - Ensure timely data on boarding, validation, and other deliverables based on frequency - Overcome any data quality gaps through effective dialogue with internal and external team members - Lead and act as SME for Time Series Market Data projects - Drive automation capabilities within the team - Monitor and escalate any production gaps (people issues, system issues) to the management team or IT - Provide business requirements for any new development or fixes to the Market Risk Projects team or IT and sign off test results - Respond to ad hoc queries from the business or other internal stakeholders, ensuring swift response and compliance with internal policies around the distribution of sensitive data - Participate in projects on systems/process updates and testing the implementation of these as necessary Qualifications Required: - Good knowledge of Market Risk concepts and methodologies with an emphasis on Respective Asset Class Products - Working knowledge of Market Data vendors (BBG, Reuters etc) is preferred - Strong understanding of Market Risk IT application - 2-3 years of experience in Market Risk Reporting will be preferred - Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline (Financial Engineering, Financial-Math) is preferable - Strong analytical, technical, and/or statistical skills with proven ability to process large datasets into meaningful information - Strong computing skills in Excel, Access - Experience with Python, VBA, SQL, and proficient in programming languages Additional Company Details: At Barclays, the core promise to all employees is 'Be More @ Barclays'.
