About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer - Network Automation at Barclays, you will lead the development of advanced network automation platforms and integration services. Your key responsibilities will include: - Designing scalable systems and driving engineering excellence to deliver high-quality automation solutions. - Developing high-quality, responsive, and accessible UI components. - Building modern web applications using React, Angular, or similar frameworks. - Creating scalable microservices based solutions. - Utilizing network automation and integration tools such as Netconf/Yang, YAML/Json, Jinja, Parsers, Netmiko, etc. - Demonstrating a strong understanding of API design and system integration patterns. - Writing secure, reliable, and production-grade code. - Applying strong networking fundamentals covering routing, switching, firewall, and load balancing. - Possessing exposure to virtualization and infrastructure environments. Additionally, some highly valued skills may include: - Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms. - Exposure to SRE practices including SLIs/SLOs and observability tools like ELK, Observe. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. In this role, based in Pune and Bengaluru offices, your purpose will be to design, develop, and improve software using various engineering methodologies to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues. Your accountabilities will include: - Developing and delivering high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. - Collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. - Participating in code reviews, promoting a culture of code quality, and knowledge sharing. - Staying informed of industry technology trends and contributing to the organization's technology communities. - Adhering to secure coding practices and implementing effective unit testing practices.
