Java Backend Engineer

As a senior full-stack engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in building and owning services for a large-scale supply-chain analytics and alerting platform. Your responsibilities will involve working across various technology stacks, contributing to the development of an emerging agentic-AI capability, and ensuring the successful production deployment of services. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect: - Designing, building, and managing backend services in Java/Spring Boot, including the creation of REST and GraphQL APIs over BigQuery and MongoDB. - Developing and optimizing streaming and batch data pipelines using Apache Beam on GCP Dataflow for ingesting high-volume supply-chain event feeds into BigQuery. - Crafting and fine-tuning analytical BigQuery queries to detect operational conditions and generate alerts, while managing pipeline scheduling. - Implementing alert-lifecycle and worklist features with reliable and scalable processing, including ingest, route, snooze, resolve, and archive functionalities. - Improving performance through techniques such as parallel query execution, caching layers, materialized views, and thread-pool tuning. - Building agentic-AI workflows using Python/FastAPI, including human-in-the-loop email automation and knowledge-base-driven prompting. - Developing frontend features using React/Next.js/TypeScript with state management tools like Redux Toolkit and redux-saga. - Implementing cross-cutting concerns such as role-based access, secure impersonation, audit logging, and PowerBI integration. - Taking ownership of end-to-end quality assurance, security remediation, framework upgrades, and incident resolution. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in design discussions, and reviewing peers' pull requests. To be successful in this role, you should possess: - 8+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Apache Beam/GCP Dataflow, BigQuery, Python, React/Next.js/TypeScript, SQL/NoSQL data stores, and GCP services. - Proficiency in performance tuning, concurrency, testing, and debugging. - Ability to work independently and own services end-to-end. - Strong fundamentals in backend, data engineering, AI, and frontend technologies.
