Job Description: System Administrator Key Responsibilities: - System Management: - Monitor system performance and reliability, ensuring optimal operation. - Network Administration: - Manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks. - Configure and monitor firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs. - Security: - Implement and enforce security measures, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems. - Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments. - Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control. - Troubleshooting and Support: - Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. - Provide technical support to end-users and address their concerns promptly. - Backup and Recovery: - Implement and manage data backup solutions to ensure business continuity. - Develop and test disaster recovery plans. - System Upgrades and Maintenance: - Ensure compatibility and performance optimization during upgrades. - Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain detailed records of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting activities. - Generate performance and activity reports for management. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Technical Skills: - Proficiency in operating systems (Windows Server, Linux/Unix). - Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash). - Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP). - Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). - Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus. - Soft Skills: - Strong problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
