Job Summary The Application DevOps Engineer (Azure) is responsible for enabling reliable, secure, and efficient application delivery across the software development lifecycle. This role owns CI/CD platform execution, release governance, and Azure infrastructure support to ensure stable operations across development, test, and production environments. The role partners closely with developers, QA, and platform stakeholders to resolve day-to-day delivery blockers, improve deployment quality, and reduce operational risk. The position also drives incident triage, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement across Azure and Azure DevOps services while maintaining strong governance, observability, and security practices. Job Duties Own and manage end-to-end CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps and GitHub for reliable, repeatable application deployments Design and enforce deployment stage structures, including stage ordering, dependencies, approvals, and execution controls Manage application deployments across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production environments Drive release management activities, including planning, coordination, execution, communication, and post-release validation Implement controlled and approval-based releases to reduce production risk Plan, design, and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and YAML-based pipeline definitions Support Azure application services including Web Apps, Function Apps, Logic Apps, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, Azure Data Factory, Service Bus, Azure SQL Database, Application Gateway, and Traffic Manager Support Azure networking components used by applications, including VNETs, NSGs, Load Balancers, and Private Endpoints Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues independently, including platform, configuration, deployment, and environment problems Analyze logs, telemetry, and monitoring data to distinguish infrastructure issues from application or code-related issues Identify, isolate, and clearly communicate application/code issues to development teams without requiring deep application code ownership Participate in incident management activities, including triage, coordination, communication, service restoration, and follow-up actions along with ticket handling and operational requests. Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) and drive corrective and preventive actions for recurring deployment or platform issues Support disaster recovery readiness activities, including backup validation, recovery procedure review, and DR readiness checks Maintain GitHub repository and branch governance practices, including pull request flow, release readiness, and deployment standards Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Education: Bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field required Overall Experience: 5 to 6 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or application platform support roles, required Experience supporting Azure-based application hosting and enterprise operations, required Experience collaborating with development teams to resolve CI/CD and environment-related issues, required Infrastructure Experience: Hands-on experience supporting Azure infrastructure across application hosting (Web Apps, Function Apps, Virtual Machines), data and storage (Azure SQL Database, Storage Accounts), integration and messaging (Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, Service Bus), security (Key Vault), and traffic management (Application Gateway, Traffic Manager). DevOps Experience: Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipeline implementation, release management, and production support, required Hands-on experience with service principals (SPN), managed identities, and automation scripting/orchestration, required Experience with incident triage, root-cause analysis, and ticket-driven operational support, required Experience using Application Insights and Azure Monitor/Log Analytics for troubleshooting and operational diagnostics, preferred Software: Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Git, Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI, YAML, ServiceNow, Snyk, GitHub Actions, ARM, GitHub, Power BI Certification: Microsoft Azure certifications AZ-104 and AZ-400, required Good to Have: Experience with VNET, NSG, Private Endpoint, API Management, Front Door, and Load Balancer Experience with Azure Backup/Site Recovery, Redis Cache, Cosmos DB, and Azure Managed Instance Experience with GitHub Advanced Security, release gates/quality checks, blue-green/canary patterns, and rollback/hotfix strategy Experience with reusable pipeline templates/modules, self-hosted agent administration, artifact versioning/promotion, SLA/SLO tracking, ARM/Bicep, Docker, AKS (basic exposure), Azure Container Registry, Power BI, Jira, and Confluence Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong analytical mindset and structured problem-solving approach during high-pressure production issues Clear written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to manage multiple priorities with ownership, accountability, and attention to detail Strong cross-team collaboration and stakeholder coordination skills Strong documentation discipline for runbooks, incident summaries, and release communication Commitment to continuous improvement, reliability-focused thinking, and operational excellence
